Hard days

You don't have to walk today

Push through. Dig deep. Be strong for one more hour. Today those lines land like insults. There's nothing in the tank, and being told to go find some is one more thing to fail at. You've spent all morning faking an effort that isn't there. The faking has cost more than the day ever would have.

Put it down. Strength you don't have can't be squeezed out by wanting it more. Some days the reserve is empty for reasons that say nothing about your commitment. A bad night. A body still repairing. A week that took more than it gave. Today isn't a test you're failing.

Remember falling asleep in the back seat as a kid and waking up in your own bed? You didn't walk there. Someone carried you. Being carried was always part of the design. God doesn't wait for you to be strong before He picks you up. The cigarette posed as the thing that got you through days like this. It was riding on your back all along.

Today asks for no effort. It only asks you to stop pushing help away. If someone reaches out, let them. If nobody does, He already has. Hand Him the rest. I'm empty today. You take it from here. A carried day is still a free day, all the way to midnight.
