Hard days
Where's the good part they promised
You were told it would feel better by now. Clearer head. More energy. Mornings that don't start in the red. You've done the days honestly, and what you've got is a flat stretch and a creeping suspicion this was oversold. That deserves a straight answer, not a pep talk. The promise was real. The timing you were handed was off.
The first stretch pays down a debt. It doesn't pay a bonus. Nicotine turned your everyday pleasures down so it could win every comparison. Stopping starts the repayment, and repayment feels like nothing. It's a credit card getting paid off. The balance drops, and your wallet looks exactly the same.
Most of what hurts today isn't the flatness. It's the flatness plus the belief that it means this failed. Drop the second half and you're left with a dull week. Anyone can carry a dull week. Some of the dullness can be repair work, and repair keeps its own hours. If dull ever darkens into something heavier that won't lift, bring it to a doctor. Asking is part of getting free.
Swap the question. Skip asking whether you feel better yet. Ask whether you're still running up the card. You aren't. Every free day, nothing new gets charged. God does His best work underneath, where a mood can't see it. One ordinary morning, a small good thing will hit at full strength, and you'll be free to feel it.
