Hard days
Running on three percent
You have permission to do the minimum today. Some days you're a phone at three percent. Nobody runs every app at three percent. You dim the screen, close what you can, and go find a charger. Today is a charger day, and that's allowed.
Shrinking the goal is smart, not weak. Freedom rarely slips on the good days. It slips on days like this one, when everything feels pointless and the old habit starts to sound reasonable. The cigarette always did its best business on your hardest days. So today gets one job.
Get to bedtime without smoking. That's the whole assignment. Productivity, charm, a good attitude, a clean kitchen. All optional until tomorrow. Reading this instead of smoking is the job, and you're doing it. Low battery still counts as running.
Cross one thing off your list without doing it. Draw the line and let it go. Then get to tonight however you can. Blankets, a dumb show, cereal for dinner. Tell Him the truth about the battery. Lord, this is all I've got today. He's carried people on less. Three percent, spent free, is a full day.
