Hard days
Recalculating from right here
You slipped. It's done, and the hour after feels worse than the thing itself. The math is already running. Today's gone, so the week is shot, so maybe none of it was ever real. That spiral has an appetite. Left alone, it'll try to eat every good day you've stacked since you began.
A GPS doesn't send you back home when you miss a turn. It recalculates from right where you are. No lecture. No penalty lap. Your next free stretch starts this hour. Waiting for Monday feels serious. It's only more of the same slide. The cigarette got one hour. Now it's after the whole week, dressed up as honesty.
Then take something useful from it. Rewind to the thirty minutes before. What was the room, the person, the feeling underneath? Something specific opened that door, and now you know which one. A slip is information about one trigger, not a verdict on who you are. Plenty of people who got free slipped on the way there. They read the slip and kept walking.
Nobody's collecting penance. No ruined evening, no giant promise, no announcement. If there are any cigarettes left, get rid of them now. Then own it with God, short and true. I fell. I'm getting up. Stay close. The next ten minutes are free, and they count as much as any you've kept.
