Hard days
Is this just who I am now?
There's a sentence under the flat days that you haven't said out loud. What if this is just who I am now? It's the fear that the funny, bright version of you ran on something, and you just unplugged it. That thought shows up sounding certain. Certain isn't the same as right.
Run one test. A phase has a start date. A personality doesn't. Think of a cold. You remember the first scratchy morning. Nobody remembers the morning they became themselves. So when did this start? If you can point to a month, a week, a Tuesday, you're not describing your character. You're describing something passing through.
Now line up the evidence. The flatness came after you stopped. So did the fog, the short temper, the broken sleep, the songs that lost a little color. Part of that list may be your reward system recalibrating. The cigarette was passing off your spark as its own. Every item on the list has a date you could circle. Things with a beginning have an end.
Circle that date on a calendar, or put it in your phone. Not as a streak. As proof. God sees the whole arc you're standing inside, even when all you can see is this week. Let Him hold the long view. If the flatness won't lift after several weeks, bring it to a doctor or a friend who'll listen. Asking is brave. You're not stuck. You're early.
