Hard days

Half this backpack isn't yours

What if only part of this is yours? Something went wrong and the weight landed on you. Maybe you earned some of it. Maybe you were just the easiest one to hand it to. Either way it's sitting on your chest, and there's no undo button. Your body remembers a fast, old answer for pain shaped like this. Blame with no exit is its own kind of ache.

Before anything else, sort the pile. It's like dumping a backpack on the bed and finding half of it was never yours. Grab paper. Write your part in one plain sentence. Then list what belongs to others, to timing, to things nobody controlled. Your real pile is almost always smaller. Not zero. Smaller. Honest guilt names something. Shame refuses to.

Guilt feels like an emergency. It isn't one. You can carry something true and unfinished through a whole day without numbing it. Smoking never lifted the weight anyway. It muffled you for a few minutes, then handed the load back with a second thing stapled on top. Guilt you face can shrink. Guilt you numb only grows.

If your piece can be repaired, take the smallest real step today. One message. One call. One sentence to the right person. If it can't be repaired, it was never yours to carry alone. Give the whole page to God. This part is mine. The rest is Yours. Nothing on it shocks Him, and He can hold what you can't. The mistake is yours to own. The freedom is yours to keep.
