Becoming free
You were never short on willpower
Take back one sentence you say about yourself. I've got no willpower. It comes out easy, almost cheerful, whenever some plan falls over. It feels honest. You watched the attempts yourself, and they all ended the same way. None of those attempts was a fair test.
Try ignoring an alarm that resets itself every time it goes quiet. That's what you were up against. Every dose wore off and set it ringing again. Then the cigarette blamed the noise on you. Losing to that says nothing about your will.
Same you now. Same nerves, same character, the same will you supposedly lack. Nothing got upgraded. There's just no dose wearing off to reset the alarm, so it can finally wind down. Your will gets a fair test at last. And it's passing. The weakness was never in you. It was in the setup.
God gave you a will, and He's been strengthening it all along. Next time something hard comes up, a class, a steep hike, a tough conversation, skip the old disclaimer. No I'm terrible at this, but. Just yes. Then watch what that will does with a fair shot.
