Becoming free

Someday just lost its alibi

Pull up the list. Maybe it's a note on your phone called Someday. Maybe it only lives in your head. The trip. The guitar. The course. The business. Every item was waiting on the same two things, time and money. For a while that was an honest excuse. You didn't have either, so the list stayed safe.

Both have been showing up without an announcement. The money stops leaking out a few dollars at a time. The hours that went to smoking, and the errands around it, come back to you. Someday has no alibi now. The cigarette spent your time and money, then let someday take the blame.

Which stings a little. A wish can't fail. As long as the obstacles were real, the list got to stay a wish. Remove the obstacles and the wish turns into a to do list. That's the exact spot where people stall. It's easier to want a life than to start one.

Pick one item and make the first move today. Price the flight. Email about the class. Drag the guitar out of the closet and lean it where you'll trip over it. Hand God the list while you're at it. Show me where to start. Your hours and your money are coming home. Go spend some.
