Becoming free

Nobody sneaks a salad

The gum. The body spray. The cigarette tucked where nobody would look. The timing, arranged so certain people never walked in on it. The amount you trimmed when someone asked. None of that happened by accident. You built a whole cover-up operation and kept it running. You rarely stopped to ask why it needed to exist.

Use a rule you already trust. People don't hide what they love. Nobody sneaks a salad. Nobody lies to their family about how much coffee they had. When something good happens, you want to tell someone. Your own behavior had this filed correctly the whole time. Hiding is how we treat a hook.

And the shame you carried wasn't a character flaw. It was accurate information, filed in the wrong drawer. Something in you knew this wasn't chosen. Its only language was discomfort, so you heard it as a verdict on you. The cigarette made you its accomplice, then handed you the guilt. God saw every hidden piece and never once mistook it for you.

Now retire the whole operation. Find one leftover piece of it today. The hiding spot, the emergency mints, the jacket that lived by the door. Clear it out and leave the space empty on purpose. No story to keep ready. No math before someone walks in. You're the same person in every room now.
