Hard days

Don't decide in the rain

Today is gray. Fine — gray days are real, and you're allowed to have one. Just know the one rule of gray days: don't make decisions in the rain. Low mood is a weather system, not a verdict, and every big conclusion it offers you — *this isn't working, I'm not really changing, what's the point* — is written in fog.

The habit would love you to treat today's feeling as information about the whole journey. It isn't. Your streak doesn't feel your mood. The healing doesn't pause for it. The person you're becoming is still being built on days exactly like this one — flat days count double, actually, because they're built without the fuel of feeling good.

So shrink the assignment. Today's whole job: stay free and be kind to yourself. Eat something warm. Go outside once. Let the standard be 'got through it,' and let that be genuinely enough — because it is.

The sun isn't gone; it's scheduled. Storms pass on their own clock, and God isn't grading your forecast — He's keeping you company in it. Decide things on a clear day. Today, just stay dry and stay free.
