Beating cravings

Your house is still dropping hints

The hoodie on the hook by the door. Your spot on the couch. The drawer, the bag, the shelf where the cigarettes lived. You changed, and your home didn't. It keeps dropping hints all day. Sometimes a smell in the fabric. Mostly just places your body knows by heart.

That tug in your own hallway is real. You're being cued at home, from every room. The cigarette left its fingerprints on your stuff so it could keep nudging you even after you walked away. Fingerprints wipe off. Every spot you clear is one less hint it gets to drop.

Start with whatever's closest, right now. Pull the hoodie off the hook and throw it in the wash. Wipe out the drawer. Take one item, not the whole house. Hands are more convincing than intentions. You're not waiting to become someone new. You're scrubbing the old routine off your own things.

Finish that one job and call it enough. Tomorrow, walk the hallway and notice how it feels. God makes things new, and He doesn't mind starting with a hoodie. This craving just lost a room. Your home is switching sides, one load at a time.
