Beating cravings
The compliment with a catch
You're being dared. Not called weak, called strong. You're a grown adult who runs your own life, and one cigarette would prove it. Settle the question. Show everyone it was never a big deal. It's a nice speech. It's also the most flattering way anyone's ever tried to rob you.
Think about someone who's over an ex. They aren't scrolling the old photos at midnight to prove they're fine. Only the ones still hung up do that. Needing the proof is the tell. Real control is boring. An urge shows up at four in the afternoon and finds nobody home to argue with. No speech. No test. Freedom just shrugs and gets on with the day.
Put that strength somewhere it counts. Drop and do twenty pushups, right now. Wall pushups count. Feel your arms burn and your breath come hard. That's you running your own body, pointed at the life you want. God gave you that strength for building, not for proving.
And look where the proof already landed. The offer came, and your hands were busy doing pushups instead. No audience. No announcement. God saw it, and nobody else needed to. A hundred cigarettes couldn't prove what that minute just did. You're already the person it dared you to prove you were.
